High Potter of Denver

For the most part, I stopped attempting to sell BFP’s to dispensaries. Let’s face it they’re branding their own merchandise. And the larger the dispensary chain, the better funded they are at it. Let’s not forget people really go to a dispensary for one thing, WEED/WAX. So I target Head Shops and the like instead. However, I am a big fan of mom and pop dispensaries, even thought my work isn’t really in there budget. Usually they purchase one for display. Which is what I hope for, so people can see it displayed. To me it’s like a tiny art show and they are the curators.

With that said, The first few towns I passed, no head shops, but I saw a couple mom and pop dispensaries as I drove by on the interstate. I thought, they are close to Denver. I’ll make those up when I get back. Meanwhile Headed West on I-70.

MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverI hit the ski resorts and small towns that have head shops. I’ll swing through Frisco towards Breckenridge stopping at Smok N’ Bra 101 N 3rd Ave. Frisco, CO. 80443 There I met Ste V. pronounced Stevie. Her shop is all local, meaning Colorado, and it’s consignment only. I usually stay away from consignment stores because I have a tendency to forget who has what. Sure, I write it down, but I don’t hassle them constantly to see if it sold either. Anyway, I just adore Ste V and her store. It’s filled with Handmade Colorado Artwork.
MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverGetting back on the road, I met Jay at Get Hi Gallery 100 N Main St, Breckenridge, Colorado 80424. He’s part owner, but his partner purchases pipes and like items. While showing Jay my BFP’s, Big Fucking Pipes, some of the customers were surprized and mentioned they seen one on 2Chainz’ TV Show. I told them I made it, that’s my pipe. They were stoked, It turns out Issacc, Henri, and Jay will purchase two of my smaller pipes. talking about what a cool souvenir. How cool, they were visiting from Houston, TX. Thanks guys.

I kept at it, moving from head shop to head shop. I met a MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverBeautiful girl, Stormy, I believe. However, they had no purchasing power, but I love to take pictures of the people I meet along the way. Which brings me to Paul. but first I took a smoke break.

As I was getting back on the Interstate, I saw Paul, holding a card board sign. No idea what it said. But I stopped and asked if he needed a ride. He wanted to know if I was going far? or just a few miles? I said I’m headed to Grand Junction but I had stops to make. I could take him to Vail for sure. At that moment I dropped a stop in Minturn, from a guy who purchased a BFP years ago. Battle Mountain Trading Post. crazy cool novelty store, 1930 stoves, antiques, historic stuff. MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverPaul agrees to Vail and I clear the passenger seat, moving two BFP’s and stuff. I’m sure he noticed them. but I said nothing and off we went. Paul looks like shit! eyes red, not like from weed but a hard night. He’s packing a thin sleeping bag surrounding a water bottle. We chat, hell I do most of the talking, lol. As we arrive in Avon I tell him I have a few stops, but if he’s still here, I’ll take him to Glenwood Springs. As it turned out, he was still there. So now we were back on the road. I have pipes of all sorts in my truck, floorboard and seat have a few also. I shared my cigarettes and soda with him. Then Paul asks if I want to smoke a bowl? I asked him “you got Weed?” No, he says. I guess I misunderstood him. So I asked, Do you want to smoke a bowl. MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverHe agrees and I pull over to at a rest area and we go for a short walk and smoke a bowl. I like to stop and take pictures of people smoking my pipes in the different landscapes. However, I forgot to load my BFP while we just smoked from my daily pipe. We will hit a few other rest areas stopping at No Name, just short of Glenwood Springs. the facilities were out of order and they had four porta potties available. MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverIts to late to do Glenwood, So we smoke till dark and I’m curious where Paul will sleep. As it turns out my plan was to sleep in the back if the truck, but there is no room in there because of all the boxes. I was being optimistic and took a full truck load of BFPs. The cab would do, till sales picked up. I asked Paul what his Plan was? See, I could go to Aspen and be ready in the morning and do sales then do Glenwood to Grand junction. I didn’t think I would be well recieved sleeping in my truck in Aspen. So I stayed at no name rest area. I could drop him off in Glenwood in the morning and do Aspen and if he’s still there I’ll pick him up. So, I ask Paul where you going to sleep? To my surprise, in all this open space he chose the shitter. I said, “Really” he didn’t want to get wet if it rained. I understood. During the night it got chilly. I met up with Paul in the morning and had a wake and bake session. I’ll give Paul a fleece jacket for his future endevours, then I dropped Paul off in Glenwood and drove to Aspen.
MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverArriving in Aspen before the shops opened I went to my Favorite trailhead. It leads to Conundrum Hot Springs. The hot springs is situated at 10,000 ft in the Maroon Belles, between Aspen and Crested Butte. I smoked wanting to return to the warmth of the pooling water. With my mind right, I went to the only head shop in Aspen. MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverOne Love Aspen Smokeshop 520 E. Cooper Ave. #205 Aspen, Colorado 81611 The owner really liked the BFP’s asked if I could come back, not a problem. Headed to Glenwood, no Paul. worked my way to Grand Junction in a rest area with a lake near grands Junction I stopped to charge up my phone and smoke. about 30 min there, the sky open up and it rained hard for 15 minutes. I watched, the few people there scattered mostly fisherman and a guy reading with his dog. The guy with the dog is Ricky. He’s a local, he stops by my vehicle after the rain and starts chatting. mentioning “its ok if you smoke.” I ask would you like to join me? he agrees and we chat about the area and fracking. He apparently has a law suit with the oil and gas people and I let him vent as we hot box the shit out of my truck. Upon leaving I give hime a BFP. Good luck Ricky. On my Trip to Las Vegas I made a drop of weed at the border. I thought I would look to see if it was there. LOL nope. I hope someone in need found it, hopefully a hitch hiker. As I headed East back to GJ My truck started vibrating, it got worst as I sped up. I limped it to an auto parts store. Thinking it might be a transmission problem. It’s a manual trans so Checking the fluid is a little difficult. fluids looked good. I proceeded home aborting the southern route through Colorado. returning the way I came. It seemed to improve as I drove east. I started kicking myself for not continuing. I thought I would stop and photograph the BFP’s at Hanging Lake. I’ve been there several times, but for some reason it looked different. the lot was packed.MileHighPotter, High Potter of Denver I must admit every time I’ve been there nobody was around, maybe that’s why it looked unfamiliar. I decided to just continue driving only to have the vibration start back up. I will drive through the night with cooler weather to cool the engine and slower speeds without the traffic. This trip had its success and its shortfalls but I enjoyed the journey.MileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of DenverMileHighPotter, High Potter of Denver
