Roadtripping with Lynard. Arizona Bound: Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest
I arrived at the Grand Canyon with an hour and a half till sunset. I knew I didn’t have time to descend into the canyon, even though I really wanted to go down with Lynard. I started out with taking the Big Lynard to the Canyon Rim. I immediately got attention and was approached by two young ladies. We chatted about Lynard and took some photos of us with Lynard at the Grand Canyon.
They ask if I wanted to smoke a blunt with them. Hell Yeah, As we relocated, they break Lynards arm, along with my heart. We smoked the blunt and I loaded a bowl. I tell them that I have some BFP’s, Big Fucking Pipes in the truck. And that if I see them before I leave, I’ll smoke one with them. Now these two chicks wanted me to send them the pics of them with Lynard. I get their info and promise that when I get wifi, somewhere like Burger King or a larger town, I will. Here’s the thing about these chicks, they can’t hold a camera straight to save their lives. The photos that they took are crooked, not a little, but forty five fucking degrees. I watched them do it and it really started to bother me but I kept quite. so when I sent them the photos I corrected the image. Here are the photos they took.
I’ll take Lynard to the truck and grab some BFP’s to photograph. I’ll take pics until dark.
I set my destination for home depot in Flagstaff, which opens at six am, to purchase supplies to mend Lynards arm. I didn’t want to continue, with him out of operation. I was in and out of home depot within fifteen minutes. The sun wasn’t up yet and the temperature was to cold to do repairs right then. I headed east to meteor crater arriving prior to sunrise. Well, they don’t open till eight, so I had just over an hour to kill. I parked down a long dirt road and mended Lynard and had breakfast as the paint dried and the sun rose over the horizon.
When the gates do open, I find out it’s going to cost me eighteen dollars to see the ancient meteor impact. I’ve seen the aerial pics of the crater before and they are so cool. But lets face it, I’m not getting that view from the ground. So I decided to continue my adventure. Winslow, AZ.
As it turns out the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert was just down the road, and to my surprise it was Veterans Day and All National Park were free. Then I recalled the day prior at the Grand Canyon costing me thirty dollars for a few hours. I asked, “If i purchase the Annual Park pass, would you credit me yesterdays fee at the grand canyon?” he said, sure. So, I purchased an annual park pass and spent the whole day there.
Afterwards, I headed to Albuquerque, NM attempting sales along I-40 with the few BFP’s I have remaining.
